O'Canada
The First Graders of Mrs. Sparks' class have enjoyed learning about the country of Canada this year. We have enjoyed communicating with first graders in Nova Scotia and British Columbia, Canada. Our school, Fisher Grade School, in Fisher, Illinois hosted a World's Fair on May 16, 1997 for the entire community. Guest were invited to share in a day of visiting countries from around the world. Each classroom chose a country and shared what they had learned about that country through classroom displays. It was a great way to travel the world without getting jet lag. One of the many projects we enjoyed this year while learning about Canada was the contact we had with First Graders in British Columbia,Canada. The first graders in Canada are called Grade Ones. The following email is from our Grade One friends in British Columbia, Canada.
