Stephen Barton Before the War:

Stephen Barton lived in Newcomb and joined the army I assume before the war.

Stephen Barton’s Military Experiences:

Stephen Barton enlisted into company F of the 125th Illinois infantry as a private in the union army.

How I Think the Civil War Affected Stephen Barton:

The Civil War literally killed Stephen Barton. He was near Marietta, Georgia, at Kennesaw Mountain when over 3000 Union soldiers were dead and wounded. Over 1000 Confederate soldiers were killed and wounded. I assume it was a bloody mess.

Soldiers life in the Infantry:

I assume that the people in the 125th infantry company F, trained a lot of the time just in case they were to fall upon some confederates. I assume that camp life was harsh and they most likely got diarrhea or some other disease of the camp.

My Conclusions on Stephen Barton’s Involvement in the Civil War:

In my opinion, Stephen Barton was in one of the most brutal battles. I assume he killed confederates and died fighting for his right to live.

What did Stephen Barton do after the war:

Stephen Barton I assume had a family and probably was taken to his family and then I assume buried. If not, I assume he was buried in a place chosen by the war department, or left at Kennesaw Mountain.
