Fisher Grade School Welcomes You!

Teachers and students have worked together to bring this site to you.
We hope you will visit us often.
The town of Fisher is located in the middle of corn and bean country.
Fisher has approximately 1550 people that live in the town. There are 330
students that go to Fisher Grade School. Fisher has a grocery store, bank, and a
post office uptown. There are also many churches in Fisher. In grade school we
are able to play sports. The Fisher school district has a Grade School and a
Junior-Senior High School.
Fisher Grade School has been fortunate to be the recipient of several
ISBE grants. Our first endeavor was an Installation of Networks, a technology grant,
in 1995-95. This grant allowed us to install the first stage of our LAN. Our
fifth grade classrooms received an IllinoiSPIN grant dealing with community issues in
1995-96. The completion of our LAN was achieved with the awarding of a
Building-Based Innovations Through Technology grant in 1996-97. This grant allowed
the classrooms to present Fisher's version of a World's Fair. During this same
school year, a fifth grade and a first grade class participated in a Museum in the
Classroom grant working with the Center for American Archaeology, in Kampsville, IL.
The sixth grade Science classes were involved in a Science Literacy grant
Pilot Project dealing with environmental issues.
We are proud of the accomplishments of our teachers, staff, and students.
Many of our dreams have become a reality with the dedicated support of our
community group, COB (Community of Board).
