Disguise A Turkey
Fourth Graders at Fisher Grade School were asked to write a story
about a turkey trying to survive Thanksgiving without becoming the main course.
Well, it was a beautiful day in November. I had been eating a lot lately and I was starting to get fat. It was a week before Thanksgiving. I had time to get slim and buy a costume. I went to a costume store and looked at the costumes. There was a policeman costume, a scary monster costume, and a lot of other costumes. Finally I spotted one. It was a pink and purple poinsettia. It was perfect! Everyone would be getting out their Christmas decorations soon. I bought the costume. I put it on. Then I went looking for a house with a doggy door. I spotted one. I went in the house using the dog door. I was in! WOW! I found a pink and purple poinsettia in a pot of dirt. I stood in with it and I looked just like a poinsettia plant. We were identical(except I was fatter)! The day before Thanksgiving I was starving. Nobody was home so I went to the pantry and found some Chocolate flavored Slim Fast. I drank it all. I then Looked in the mirror and saw myself get skinnier. It was amazing! I looked identical with the other poinsettias. We looked the SAME! I don't think I'll be eaten for Thanksgiving this year!

First, my turkey's name is Elvis. I named that because if somebody saw him no body would believe that person and they would just walk away. People say I look weird because of my orange nose and funny looking hair that looks a lot like feathers. I don't know what they're talking about. I'm a very heathy 19 year old man. My friends also say I kind of make a gobbling sound when I sing but I realy just stutter a little bit.
